Hi I am just looking for some feedback on my chances at any of the top universities(Ivy etc.), any opinions or suggestions would be appreciated.

The Ivies seem unlikely. Your SAT and weighted GPA are a little low by their standards, and you have weak ECs. Do you have a focus/passion? If you showed a strong inclination for something and could write about it well in your essays, then the Ivies would be more likely.

bpk1 is right your SAT scores are perfectly fine. i would look at strenghtening other parts like getting a summer program and internship or doing something in the field your interested in. have you thought about playing in college (four years of varsity basketball sounds awesome) talk to recruiters

I would say HYPS are unlikely, but at Cornell, Penn, even Dartmouth you might have a shot, esp. if you do some cool things in those ECs. It would be a really, really valuable boost if your basketball skills are worthwhile. HOWEVER, I would really encourage you to look beyond the ivy league. You sound like prestige is your primary search factor, and I would encourage you to really consider what kind of school will fit you best rather than what school will look best as a window-cling sticker on your car. There are several dozen schools below the ivies whose educational opportunities are equal or superior to those elite seven schools. Good luck.

Try taking the SAT again (or the ACT), if you can get your scores around 2250+ you will have a much better shot at some top schools (though ivies will still be difficult)

As for EC's, they are a little below average for the ivies. If you can show deep investment in a few of them you could use that to your advantage in an essay or something, as schools value commitment very much.

Calcruzer, are you seriously saying that it's easier to get into Georgetown, UChicago, WUSTL, JHU, and Tufts than it is to NU and Vanderbilt? Even Duke is debatable.

Blanket statements like that are really misleading. All the schools you listed are places the OP should certainly cosnider, but I don't think that they're easily all match schools. They're mostly reachy.

Calcruzer you're a know it all, and lolabelle...stop being ridiculous, you both make me sick, these scores couldn't get a Philippino/African American/Native American, orphaned, one legged, blind, and deaf kid into any good school like Dartmouth, he should just shoot for the local community college and major in cosmetology. Not that there is anything wrong with that. The world will need hairdressers and manicurists in twenty years just as much as we need them now.

I'm guessing you are still a Junior? :) in which case I'm sure you can work on all the weak points that people mentioned before. Don't try to ride on athletics... it dosen't always work ... to be on the safe side, maybe if you do really well on your APs, you could have a better shot... and SATs if you have time. :) My friend got into Dartmouth with a 2160 and no athletics.
