Do I have a shot at any UC besides Riverside or Merced?

<p>I'd be willing to go to any UC, aside from UCR or UCM, and someone recently told me that the only shot I had were those 2 schools.
If I can't get into a UC, I'm headed for a community college.
I live in Los Angeles. </p>

<p>UW - 3.3
W - 3.5</p>

<p>Scores unknown, taking ACT soon. </p>

<p>2 AP classes this year (All my school will allow; APUSH / AP Eng.)
I had like 5 or 6 honors classes throughout freshman/sophomore, but the UC System doesn't recognize them.

<p>I also had some family problems throughout high school, with my parents divorcing, my grandmother slowly dying of lung cancer, my sister running away, and my moms auto-immune disease becoming more and more prevalent. </p>

<p>I’m sorry to hear those things about your family but they can be used to your advantage. Your grades are decent and your community service and leadership is nice. If you use those life experiences and write an awesome essay that has presence and voice, makes the admissions team want to know more, you’ll have a pretty good chance.</p>

<p>You’d easily make in UC Davis and SB too. UCSD’s a stretch, but with a good essay, it’s well worth the shot!</p>

I dont know if you would interested in going there, but you’ll do great at Colorado and/or Penn state
Just know that Penn state doesnt have need based financial aid</p>
