do i have a shot at honors transfer

College GPA: 3.684 at Boston College in the Honors Program, with 19 credits last semester (i am a freshman). Taking 21 credits this semester including my 6 credit honors seminar and one 200 and one 300 level class. I plan to be a physics major.

High School: 98.84 WGPA at a competitive Long Island high school, rank 30/445
SAT: 2180 (790 M 710 CR 680 W)
7 5's and 2 4's on AP exams
Finished 3rd in the NYSPHSAA bowling tournament individually last year along with a decent amount of other ECs

I also received the presidential scholarship from Stony Brook last year, but I never applied to the Honors Program (to many essays after applying to 13 schools).

I know space is limited for transfers, so do I have a shot?

CK - sounds like you're in the ballpark, but you might want to get in touch with the Honors College directly; e-mail Laurie Fiegel (laurie.fiegel@stonybrook.edu).

Chris D'Orso
Stony Brook University

I emailed her a few days ago. Thanks for your response

I'm just curious. If you don't mind telling, why do you want to transfer out of BC to SUNY SB?

cheaper, better physics department, closer to home, i dont like BC....
