Match. Your overall credentials are good, but your GPA could hurt you.

I would have to disagree Alexandre
GPA is pretty low and on top of that the OP is from NJ, but everything else is excellent.
Slight Reach

It doesn’t matter really if others say you are a match or if it is a reach, they don’t know for sure.
You have to figure out yourself by applying.

Good luck!!!

If you were applying in 2008: you would have been deferred and then waitlisted
If you were applying in 2009: you probably would have been accepted

You are applying in 2010: could go either way…

blackpen: NJ applicants had MUCH better success this past admissions season to UMich than during the previous year, especially in the GPA range of the OP…

Thanks for all the information. Hopefully everything turns out alright next year. Do they ask for mid-year reports / would it help to get straight A’s for the first semester of senior year?

Do you have definite proof of what you’re saying about 2009 admissions rodney? It seems to me, from what I’ve read here on CC, that Michigan has accepted more candidates for this fall than last year.

Bumping for a second opinion. My SAT2’s were 800-Math 2 and 760 Chem. I got a 5 on Chem AP and a 4 on Psych AP but will admissions officers even bother looking?

0 chance. Yu should look at community colleges.

^^ what a ******bag. Anyways, You have a pretty strong chance I think. I would say 50/50.

j89, i think u need to learn how to read tones. that is obviously a sarcasm/joke.

crazypianist1116, those scores aren’t really required, but they definitely won’t hurt :).
I’d say they’re helpful, especially if you’re applying for engineering.
