<p>My name is Sahar and I'm currently a junior and I have always wanted to go to a UC and because I'd like to stay close to home, UCLA is my top choice. I want to double major in both Political Science/International Relations and European Studies with a minor in French. Now is the time that worries about admission is consuming every waking moment of my life!I just wanted to ask you if I have a good shot by listing my accomplishments- to put my worries to rest and have me sleep at night nightmarefree! I have truly spent too many minutes worrying and stressing over my chances of getting into the school of my dreams and knowing my hard work will pay off and I just want an objective and intelligent opinion.(Sorry if it is long-I tried to make it as succinct as possible!) </p>

<p>I currently have a 4.7 UC gpa and am ranked No. 4 in my school. I have all A's and no B's and am in the most competitive program at my school that allows us to skip a year(which is why I took US and Am.Lit in 10th grade) I took all honors courses in 9th grade(no APs) In 10th grade took: AP Bio Honors Alg II AP US Hist H Am Lit Phys. Ed(required for grad so had to take it) H French 2 In 11th: AP Psych AP european hist. H math analysis/AP Calc A AP English Lit Advanced Orchestra H French 3 In 12th, I plan on taking AP Calc BC, AP French, AP Gov, Honors Chemistry, Advanced Orchestra, and Play Production. Also, I have been attending summer school at my local community college consecutively for the past 2 years-I have taken Child Development, Sociology, Business Law, and English 101. I plan on taking Statistics and English 102 this summer.</p>
<p>SAT SCORES total: 2080 Critical Reading: 750 Math:570(I think my biggest weakness on app and is what has instigated me to post. However, I do not want to retake the test!! My math score always remains stagnant in practice tests( math makes me nervous, I HATE it) and I am VERY burned out by SAT-I have raised my score by 500 pts after studying for a year(from 1670 to 2080)) Writing: 760 (Essay received a 10) SAT Subject: Bio: 790 SAT Subject: US Hist: 760</p>

<p>As far as Extracurriculars go, I've had a big focus on my aspirations in Politics. I volunteered 40 hrs for the campaign, am youth chair of my region for Republicans of the Valley and am president of the Young Republicans for my county and am president of the Political Awareness Club at school. I plan on interning this summer for a Congressman. I went to Shakespearean acting for two summers(a passion of mine), have won an award for an oil painting I have done, played tennnis for my community(not at school because I could not fit it in my schedule) and play cello for my school's orchestra. At school, I am president of two other clubs: French Club and Music Appreciation Club. I am also a devoted member of CSF Key Club, and Knights and Ladies( a club that caters to doing community service exclusively to the school by cleaning up the campus and helping out with events, etc). Also, I am starting a Red Cross Youth Club next year. I have 200 hours of community service(so far-aim to have 400) that include working for the American Cancer Society, Operation Gratitude, working for my community center, Red Cross, and assisting the elderly in a senior citizens' home.</p>
