Basically the same chance as the average applicant, but your ECs are pretty slim, which doesn't help the relatively low GPA and class rank.

I would think that your SAT II and AP Chinese tests would be looked down upon since you're Chinese and all

the gpa isn't low, there will be many people with 3.8s and 3.9s and even 3.7s applying to harvard

but i do agree that the ECs aren't the most compelling; i think you have as much chance as anyone else does, no worse than anyone else i believe

good luck

Thanks for the comments.
How many ECs do people usually have? For me, dance team takes up the majority of my free time because it is 2 hrs a day at least 4 days a week for the entire year. Would colleges pay any attention to the time committment or is the lack of other ECs really bad.

if you're passionate about it and spend a lot of time doing it, then point that out; colleges certainly love that applicants have something else besides school that they spend a lot of time doing and they're passionate about it

so point that out, and that'll definitely be a plus for you

You're definitely a competitive applicant - and probably not an average one either, I think CC has warped the perspectives of some people. You have a 35 ACT and a very good AP record. I don't think your ECs are bad at all, hardly compelling, but neither are anybody else's really. FBLA accomplishments are interesting, I don't know how competitive it is nationally but that's something good. It would be nicer if you had more distinction in music, but if you can blow people back with recs/essays nobody would be surprised if you got in with these credentials.

Thanks so much for the feedback.

For distinction in music, the only thing I have is that I passed the advanced level test but I never competed or won any awards so I don't know if that'll be helpful.

As for the GPA, I know they are subpar but I go to a relatively competitive school. Does anyone know if colleges take that into consideration or will they mainly just look at the numbers?
