sat score ...its low, so get ready to see it: 2170. first time taking it. plan to retake for 2300 in june.
planning to take satIIs in math, chem, bio
~~~~~~~~~~~
ahhh my concern is that my sat score, Bs and 4 on the calcab exam will count against me. so i dunno. Can someone please advise me? Thanks so much :D
You've got to be kidding me.
so i should take that as a "no chance" then???
I didn't read your stats at all. First, Harvard does not have any pre-professional programs. There is no pre-med major. I think doing some research on the school is advisable before wanting to apply, don't you think so?
I think u have a very good chance :)
You should apply; I think you have a shot at Harvard. Don't not apply because you don't think you can and end up regretting it. You never know what they are looking for.
If we tell you not to bother, and you actually listen to us.. then maybe you will be right not to bother. Shouldnt you be staying 'optimistic' anyway
Um fyi my friend, xjayz, did i say anything about pre-professional programs/pre-med majors?
All I am concerned about are my chances of getting into Harvard so I can become a pre-med student and take courses at the med school
and about
"Don't not apply because you don't think you can and end up regretting it. You never know what they are looking for."
and
"Shouldnt you be staying 'optimistic' anyway"
...it's just that all my friends who got into harvard were perfect students - with near perfect SAT scores and perfect GPAs and no B's...
that's what truly worries me. I know that many got into harvard without perfect academic records, but their extracurriculars must have been stellar, right?
But thanks for your input guys! I really appreciate it! :)
Harvard have also rejected a lot of people with perfect stats. The truth of the matter is Harvard doesn't want an entire school full of 2400s and 4.0s. They are looking to build a class that is dynamic and interesting, with people from all over the world and from all different walks of life, with both the perfect stats and the not-so-perfect stats. They want to see what you can offer to this puzzle.
Yes, stats are important and yes they look great on any application, but don't sell yourself short either. Present who you are and you just might fit.
"Um fyi my friend, xjayz, did i say anything about pre-professional programs/pre-med majors?"
"I really want to do pre-med at Harvard, but......"
So yes, you insinuated that you were interested in a premed concentration. No majors, remember this is Harvard we're talking about.
