i really want to be a veterinarian, always have. I'm a freshmen in high school with a GPA of 2.8 (which i plan on getting up i have a C+ in global studies). Everyone says the average is around a 3.3 which is understandable, so i do not know if that will be a problem. Also i was wondering if their are some ways to get good scholarships? Sorry long message but I need to knoww

The average is actually around 3.6, not 3.3.

You need to get your GPA wayy up to be competitive. But that’s ok, you’re a freshmen. Work on getting up your GPA from here first and foremost and worry about admissions and such when you’re a junior.

As for scholarships, with a GPA less than 3.5, you’re generally going to be looking at essay scholarships and the like. Go to fastweb.com and see if there’s anything you can apply for as a freshmen.

Again, focus on GPA before anything else.

My advice is this…
You are only a freshman an high school so you have plenty of time to get your grades up. Just work hard throughout high school. Then when it’s jr/sr year, start looking for scholarships everywhere, there are lots of resources and scholarships out there you just need to find them. A person you should talk to if you really want to know more about scholarships is your school’s academic counselor.

If you GPA is below 3.0, you probably will not get in. Between 3.0 and 3.3 is a reach. Above 3.3 is a match if your course rigor and test scores are decent. Scholorships have different criteria but academic scholarships often are used to induce students to attend their safety schools.
