Do I Have Somewhat of a Chance?

I know chance threads are usually useless since admissions are so unpredictable, but I just would like to know if I at least seem like a reasonable candidate.

Early Decision 1
GPA 3.77/4.03
Rank 11%
ACT 34
EC/Awards: Started an online business, multiple speech competition awards, officer of a few clubs, CA Boys’ State, average teenage job, heavy involvement in Media Productions (recording school plays with crew and releasing community service films to entire school district), lots of community service, National Hispanic Scholar Finalist, internship with local politician (he gave me a community service award)
Hooks: Hispanic and First-Gen
Essays: The people I showed them to liked them. They depicted me as someone really into questioning myself and discussing/debating ideas with others.
Interview: Went amazingly well. The guy gave me perfect scores in every category and said I was one of his best candidates. (Basically a third letter of rec)

I dunno, that’s kinda a philosophical question. Does anyone have a chance?

It is neither productive nor healthy to obsess over an application you already sent in. Go read a book or something! I promise you’ll be happier!

Of course all “chance me” threads are little more than guesses. My guess:

Without your hooks I would have said no based on your GPA and rank.

With your hooks, I think that you do have a decent chance. However, you do need to also have applications in or about to go in to other good schools.

Also be aware that Chicago is very demanding. One daughter has a good friend from high school who went there. I am pretty sure that he had never had a B in his life prior to going to university. He comes back in breaks and complains about how much work Chicago is. To quote a friend (who said this about a different but similarly demanding school): “You have to want to do it”.
