Currently I'm senior in High school and about to graduate in June
I decided to go to community college first 2years and then transfer to 4years college.
I have no idea what classes should i take in Community college...
do i have to decide my major now and take related classes in community college?
or should i just take general classes?
am i able to transfer if i just take general classes?
because i heard you have to decide on major in 3rd years of college..
Thank you !

You don’t have to pick a major right away. Just take some general education classes and see what interests you. If you transfer from a CC after two years you will have to declare a major on your application.

Depending on the major you declare, there may be an issue. Some majors require prerequisites that aren’t general classes. For example, I transferred from a community college to UF and applied to be a bio major. To be accepted as a bio major I had to have taken 2 semesters of bio, 2 semesters of physics, 2 semesters of chemistry, and 2 semesters of organic chemistry. Those certainly aren’t “general” courses, so if I just decided on a whim that’s what I wanted to major in, I would’ve been rejected. It all depends o your major. A nonscience major should put you in the clear.
