Do I have to list college class taken during the summer?

I tried taking a college class over the summer while I was still a high school student but failed the class. Do I still have to list it on my UC application. Is there any way that those colleges could find out?

Yes, you must list the course. Yes, the colleges will find out if you lie and conceal the information when you apply.

Begin by re-reading the statement of application integrity you agree to when you submit your UC application:

Then note the following:

How will they know? The UCs will check the [National Student Clearinghouse](http://www.studentclearinghouse.org/) which maintains enrollment records for virtually all accredited colleges and universities. It will show your enrollment and they will ask that you submit a transcript. If you had been accepted by the UC without that information, it is very likely that your admission would be rescinded when your deception was discovered.

Report the grade and briefly explain the circumstances in the additional information section. That will have far less negative impact than concealing the information until after acceptance.

I see that you have already asked this question http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-admissions/1581466-failed-college-class-during-summer-should-i-still-list-uc-app.html</a> just a few days ago and already received the same answer. Did you expect that things had changed?

Definitely re-read the application integrity statement.

Will I also have to send transcripts for this class? Or only if they ask?

Transcripts must be sent AFTER acceptance to a UC and AFTER high school graduation. Your high school transcript must contain a notation that you graduated. They must be sent by July 1st, 2014.

All transcripts for all coursework must be submitted - this is not optional, it is a requirement (and will remain a requirement every time you apply to/enter a college or university in the future).

Ok, thanks. You have convinced to do the right thing and live up to the past. Hopefully I will still get into a good UC.

Love your very thorough answer in post #2 alamemom.
