I have a question regarding SAT and ACT submissions. A lot of the schools that I am applying to ask for either the SAT I and two SAT IIs, or the ACT.

Well here is the thing. I have a 2200 on the SAT and a 32 on the ACT (just took it again today). I want to send both these scores, but my SAT IIs are pretty bad, and I would rather not send them. Can I send my ACT and my SAT I's without sending my SAT IIs?

If you’re sending ACT, you don’t have to send SAT subject tests. You’re sending ACT. Therefore you do not need to send scores from subject tests.

The fact that you are also sending scores from your SAT reasoning test doesn’t alter any of that.

There is no universal answer, you need to go to the website of each college and read the specifics of their test reporting policies.

For instance, Y requires SAT + 2 SAT Subject tests OR the ACT. However, if you decide to send your ACT and ANY SAT scores, you have to send ALL SAT scores. See FAQ #6:

Of course, entomom is correct. I should have said that my answer applies only to those institutions that do, in fact, accept ACT in lieu of SAT plus subject tests.

I had completely forgotten about colleges and universities such as Yale, that require applicants to send all scores.

You are talking about colleges, such as Yale, Penn and Brown, that require either ACT or, alternatively, SAT plus two SAT IIs. Those colleges will not consider the SAT without SAT IIs. So if you send both ACT and SAT, they will use only the ACT to determine admission.

Whether you are required to send all scores is an entirely different issue and for that you need to check each college’s rules.
