If I am good at english/history, do I need to take AP math and science courses ? Or can i stick to honors classes for those subjects?
It depends upon your intended college major and the selectivity of the colleges you are targeting.
I know sure I would not be majoring in anything science or math related, but I am aiming for moderately to highly competitive schools.
Moderately to highly competitive schools will expect you take the most rigorous HS schedule and challenge yourself outside your comfort zone. You do not have to take every Science/Math AP class available but take a few to show that you are a academically diverse and can handle any type of curriculum.
In that case, you’d be expected to take, if available, AP Physics 1 or Honors Physics, APES, AP Stats if you can get a B or higher.
But the most important would be AP classes (or dual enrollement or AICE…) in English, Foreign Language, Humanities, History, Social Science.
