When I start college, I'm going to be staying in a suite style dorm room. Do I still need to bring a shower caddy and shower shoes?
Thanks :)

I’m currently living in one and I still use both along with my suitemates!

Yes! Always wear shower shoes in a shared college bathroom!

I use a caddy, although my suitemates do not, to reduce the clutter and so I know my items stay clean and organized.

Shower shoes or flipflops are a must! It doesn’t matter which gender you are, you NEED them.
But you could effectively clean the bathroom you’re using and the risk of going shoeless it reduced. (But seriously who’s gonna clean a bathroom?)

Caddy it depends. I use one but I don’t really need one. I decided I might as well go to the bathroom in one go so this I got make towels, Shampoo, body wash, toothbrush, toothpaste, a hair thingy, lotion, deodorant, hairbrush. You tell me, do I need a shower caddy. Also even if you don’t take the whole thing the the bathroom you can use it to keep your bathroom stuffs in one place anyway.

You’re gambling if you never get shower shoes. I’ve never had a pair, nor have I gotten athlete’s foot or the like, but the possibility is always there. (It’s just that nowhere around sells them, and because I live a couple states away, I’m only home for 2-3 days each break, one of which is a Sunday, when stores are closed.)

It’s a good idea to have both, but they sometimes aren’t easy to find this time of year. Right before college starts, stores like Target and BB&B have all their dorm stuff out, and I’ve seen caddys for under $5. You can use the cheap flip flops on sale in the summer.

emberjed- have someone pick them up for you- and pay them back as it would not cost much. They tend to be seasonal items sold in summer time.

I call excuse on emberjed! Go to Walmart and get a $1 pair of flip flops. Feet saved. #done

ember, do you not have a walmart or target near you?

I use neither, but I only share a bathroom with one other girl (we both live in singles). If you’re sharing with 4+ girls, I would definitely say get a caddy. We barely get two girls’ worth of stuff in our bathroom. As for the shoes…based on the above responses, I guess that’s pretty important again, I just trust that the one person I shower with won’t get athletes foot, but I would understand the need with more people.

I have a private bathroom for just me and my one roommate and I still have, and use, both a caddy and slippers.

Do flip flops give enough protection? Or would Crocs w/o holes or more traditional water shoes be better?
