Hi, everyone! I really really want to go to UCLA. I am learning that it is HIGHLY competitive and my likelihood of getting in is very low. Though, I do have a GPA over 3.5, I am afraid that my scores on the ACT and SAT will hinder me in getting in. I used my High School Junior scores to get into the community college that I am in now, and I am seeing that this will not be enough to get into this school. Though I am not sure if it is even necessary for me to take these test again. Thoughts?
First, I don’t think colleges will use an ACT or SAT taken in college. The test was designed for HSers. Second, UCLA doesn’t look at scores for transfers. http://www.aim.ucla.edu/profiles/cds.aspx#cdsD Hopefully you are attending a CCC.
You do realize that UCLA only accepts Junior level transfers with 60 semester/90 quarter units? They do not consider any HS grades or test scores and will not accept scores taken after HS.
See, that’s what I was wondering. Thank you! I had no idea if they looked at high school grades at all or not. This is all so new to me.
I’m actually from Idaho, and I have done more research since and Im finding that Im going to need a killer essay to get in.
Plus, you will need to have a lot of money: $55K per year. As an OOS, you will receive limited to no financial aid. It will be very expensive.
