Do I need to submit a transcript from an old school from which I didn't finish any courses?

Hello,

I have a quick question!

When I used to live in Georgia, I enrolled at a community college and took 4 classes. I ended up dropping all the classes with W’s for a variety of reasons with the main one being for relocation. I moved to San Diego and am continuing my studies at the community colleges over here. All of my community college studies will be completed in California before I transfer to a 4 year school.
With that said, is it necessary to include my transcript from the Georgia school even if I didn’t finish any courses from there?

Thanks for answering.

Contact your future school and ask them.

Every college that I know about requires you to list ALL prior colleges attended and to supply transcripts If accepted…There is a national student database that tracks enrollment information so colleges can check that you have actually done so. Since you signed your application promising that it is complete to the best of your knowledge, omitting this information means your admission could be canceled.

Yes, you need to submit the transcript whenever you apply for admission to a degree program (that includes your current CC if you are on aid and/or working toward an AA/AS degree) or for job that requires all of your transcripts. No matter how old. No matter how ugly. No matter where in the universe you were enrolled in those college-credit-bearing courses. Period. The place you apply to needs to have it on file. This really is more about the colleges and universities playing nice with each other than it is about you.

“I moved out of state” is a perfect reason for having a transcript full of W grades. You were smart to drop them and get the W grades. Lots of students forget to drop the classes and end up with a bunch of F grades instead.

Stop worrying about this, and send the transcript.
