Do I need TOEFL?

Hello everyone. I moved to the US and have been studying here since high school and now I am looking to apply for grad school. I know that TOEFL is primarily for international students, which technically I am not. However, I saw some institution's admission requirements say that if English is not your native language, then you should report a TOEFL score. I have also heard that if you have been in US for more than 2 (some say 4) years, then TOEFL does not apply. And usually they tend to have a lower requirement on your GRE score if you are a foreigner, which is nice, because I am having a lot of trouble on GRE verbal. I am really curious if anyone really knows whether I need to take it or not.

Thank you

It depends on the institution. I know that my school, Illinois Institute of Technology, does not require it for graduate applicants who have completed their bachelors degree at a U.S. institution, It is likely the same for undergraduate applicants with a U.S. high School diploma. You simply need on check on the individual university websites.
