Do I still have a chance for TAMU? 28 on the ACT and "home-schooled"?

I’m going to be completely honest here - I was home-schooled, which basically means I learned nothing. I don’t attend school so I won’t have the top 10% auto admit.
~ I made an abysmal ACT score of a 28 (with a 35 English, 33 reading, 21 math, 23 science.)
~Extracurriculars- I have 10, all on the national level but I know those mean nothing without good scores.
~I have 29 hours of dual credit college courses with a 4.0 gpa in those.

I’m sitting here trying to write my own high school transcripts (and crying a little tbh) and wondering if I even have a chance at A&M - my dream school. I’m having to do everything on my own without a counselor or teacher, and I could really use some advice. Thank you so much. Any info helps, especially success stories!

You must have learned something with a 35 in English and 33 in reading. And 28 is not abysmal, especially with a good DE GPA.

Who has been in charge of your homeschooling? You need a transcript but it’s not as hard as it sounds. There are numerous templates online.

Is there any chance you could take the ACT again in October, and work on your math sub-section in prep? How much ACT prep have you done actually?

Hang in there - all is not lost! You’ve actually got some good things to work with.

I’m actually the only one really “in charge” of my homeschooling. thank you for your kind words! unfortunately, I won’t be able to take the October Act before the deadlines,

I still think you have a shot. You may want to post this question in the homeschooling section of CC. There are some really knowledgeable homeschooling parents who post.

What major are you applying to? If it’s something in the Liberal Arts you’ll be in good shape. If it’s engineering you’ll be in trouble.

Biology, i hope to be premed. I know that sounds kind of impossible right now though.

Thanks, I will give that a shot also!

I’m going to try to take the October Act - and just send my scores in after early action closes. I am sure I will preform better on the science - and hopefully I can get my math scores up a point and meet the benchmark readiness test.
