Do I still have a chance?

So far, the answer would be no, although, with the UC's, anything is possible >>;;

Anyone have an idea when they're gonna stop sending acceptences and start the rejections? Is there any hope for those of us who still haven't received a reply yet?

I haven't gotten in either. Don't worry, UC Irvine is just sending their acceptances in an off manner.

the brian-- no worries. i am also waiting and my stats are 4.2ish UC GPA and 2320 SAT. i did, however, also get rejected from UCSD. funny, no?

Groylj2, with those stats, aren't you guaranteed the honors program w/ Regents/Chancellors scholarships? If you had that, you should've found out by now Oo;;

not guaranteed anything peppers. havent heard from UCI. have a funny feeling ive been rejected.

groylj2, wow, what is up with that?

your stats are awesome.

i don't see how you haven't heard from uci yet either, and how you got rejected by ucsd!?

i think there's hope for us yet; it seems that there is still a significant portion of people who haven't heard yet.

the admissions process is a bit wonky this year, maybe more than usual it seems.

a 4.2 GPA, 2320 should never get rejected by ucsd or wait this long for uci.

talk about the admissions process being a bit wonky...
somebody on the UCI board just said they were rejected flat-out from santa barbara (and possibly irvine) but got into san diego!

groylj2, I find that rather hard to believe... with a 4.2 GPA 2320, you should be going full ride to UCI and maybe even a full ride to UCSD. Hell, my friend from last year had a 4.3 2380 and got a full ride to everysingle UC but decided to go to Stanford so uhh either something is really wrong with the UC system this year, or you're lying about your stats.

back on topic, I'm still waiting on UCI. My friend JUST got in this morning though Sunday 9am PST for business and he has a 3.7/2020

groylj2, UCI should be BEGGING for you to join their university... seriously.

groylj2, i don't believe you, unless you did something that would have affected your status like get arrested or something then nothing would have happened. No way would UCSD reject you either.

everyone-- im not lying about my stats that would be pretty pathetic. i have been to three high schools (never expelled, suspended, or arrested though) and have a perfectly valid excuse for my spotty past. i've stayed at the same high school for the past two years. im a white, in state female also.

^You're not the only high person with high stats to be rejected, so I believe you. UCSD seems to be a little off.

^ Agreed. groylj2, UCSD doesn't want to be a rebound school, which was probably the reason why they rejected you. With those stellar stats, I can't find any other reason why they wouldn't take you unless you are some sort of criminal, which you apparently are not. How are your ECs? I'm quite ashamed to say that I actually got in with an SAT score ridiculously low compared to yours, though my GPA is slightly higher.

BTW, The_Brian, your scores look nice. Don't sweat it just yet. I think you have very good chances of getting in. If anything, I think I should be the one worrying. I was rejected to Davis, and it seems like Irvine doesn't want me as well. :(

ucsd is kind of wonky this year. i cant believe i got rejected.

It could just be that UCSD is trying to bring in a more optimistic freshman class that's actually excited to be there, since you know, UCSD has a stigma about it for bad social life, etc that could be argued to be caused by unhappy Cal/UCLA rejects. I can't blame them.

haha yeah but i personally think that people are lying about the social life thing. ive been there countless numbers of times and i love the atmosphere

if i haven't heard by this wednesday, i think i'll take it that i got rejected.

Well I noticed this on the application status website "We will notify you of our admissions decision as soon as it has been determined." So if we haven't gotten a response maybe they haven't made the decision yet? Or am I just starting to make stuff up to give myself a sense of false hope?

who really knows but uci?

all i want is to know that i got in soon, whether they just made the decision or not. :)
