Do I still have a shot at UCLA?

So this weekend I got waitlisted by UCSD, accepted by UCI and UCSC. Is UCLA out of reach at this point since I got waitlisted by UCSD?

As they say, admissions are a crapshoot, and I know someone who got rejected from UCSD but accepted to UCLA. Acceptance/rejection/waitlist at one place does not necessarily imply anything at another school. Admission committees at each school may have specific criteria they are looking for and may weigh certain factors (e.g. essays) differently than another college.

There are a lot of people applying to those UCs, and as far as I remember hearing it from a secretary from the UC Office of the President, (look up youtube), rejection generally means that there isn’t space for you.

Being waitlisted at UCSD doesn’t mean you’ll be rejected by UCLA. My roommate was rejected by UCSD, but he was still accepted by UCLA. If he weren’t accepted to UCLA, well, sadly, I would have not met him and he wouldn’t have become my roommate.
