<p>If your colleges want subject tests, then yeah, you still need to take them. The ACT can usually be taken instead of the SAT I, but not instead any of the SAT II's.</p>

<p>That is not true. Many schools, like Boston University, will accept the ACT score IN LIEU OF the 2 SAT II's. I believe Boston College is the same as well. Just be sure to carefully check each college's admission test requirements.</p>
<p>Some schools will accept ACT instead of both SAT I and SAT IIs (Brown, Vassar), and some won't (Harvard, Georgetown). Some may require the ACT with writing in order to substitute (Brown), some may not (Vassar). Review the colleges' websites carefully. When in doubt, call the admissions office and ask.</p>
<p>for Univeristy of Chiacago for example, they say they do not require it, and i have taken the ACT, my scores on the subject tests are not great yet because im taking it again in november and december, but do you think it will help my chances or no with subject tests ?</p>
