Though I was not matched in the College Match round of the Questbridge program, I want to be sure that everyone understands how great the program actually is. Yes, I was disappointed for quite a few days about not being matched, but within a week I had already received an e-mail stating that I would be moved into the early action pool for the University of Notre Dame and now I have been accepted to my first school! Not everyone will be matched, but everyone will see benefits by participating in the program. Finalists are given fee waivers; it allows you to begin the essay writing process early and not procrastinate; it allows you to truly convey your story and hardships to admissions officers in a way that cannot be done through only the Common Application. So, basically I am saying that unless you are one hundred percent sure you want to apply early decision somewhere or something like that, use the Questbridge program to your advantage. You could end up with a full ride to one of the nation's best colleges or, worst case scenario, you get a jumpstart on applications and get a number of fee waivers. It's a win-win scenario. Thank you Questbridge, and hopefully I'll be receiving more good news come Spring.

:) Agreed. And even if you don’t get into a Questbridge partner college in the end, know that (at many schools) that’s the case with 90% of the applicants. Questbridge doesn’t hurt, but it sure can help a lot. Nice job on Notre Dame malenonfare!!

Thank you physicsnut1! How did your experience with Questbridge go?

It was great! Yale-filled :D

Congratulations! That’s amazing.

Jealous. I want to go to Yale so bad. ='(

haha. But seriously.

I agree. I was advised not to apply to Questbridge because of my income, which I believe is fairly high for the program. I applied anyway, and even though I wasn’t match I received an email offering me admittance to Northwestern University the day after QB emails were sent. I definitely think this program is great for anyone fitting the criteria who wants to go to a top tier school. If nothing else it shows colleges that you’re willing to seek out new opportunities and put in some extra effort early.

Congratulations on Northwestern QueenBee2015.

And good luck FallenAngel9, hopefully Yale will be in your future!
