go to boston or NYC during long weekends or whatever?

Yes, if the dog sled routes are running

realistically, more nyc than boston. boston is 8 hours away

But do people ever do this?

usually people who live too far away to get home but don't' feel like spending a long weekend (like fall break) in Ithaca

buses blow which makes trips to the city and stuff garbage. but "local" trips to binghamton, cortland, oswego are fun. and of course why just go south. torontos just a slightly longer trip than going to NYC and where else can you smoke joints on the street and go barhopping as a snot nosed teenager?

"here else can you smoke joints on the street and go barhopping as a snot nosed teenager?"

Um, Ithaca?

zing. but legally (for both).
although a j on the slope and a night at dunbars is easily within grasp for any cornellian with a remotely passable ID
