Do Math I and Math II count as seperate tests for Harvard Admissions?

They ask for three, but would math I and math II successfully count as 2?

Math I
Math II
History

I’m not sure, but I don’t think they accept Math I.

Yes, someone here on CC applied last year with both math I and math II as well as physics and was waitlisted.

Look at post #11 http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/harvard-2013/695590-how-many-sat-ii-subject-tests-should-i-take.html

Uh…why wouldn’t they accept Math I? Math I is actually harder to get a better score on than Math II because there is no curve and the material is only slightly easier than that on Math II.

I was one of the CCers on the above mentioned thread and my posts reflect what I believed. But, a month or so ago (and I cannot find the thread), there was a thread discussing this topic. In it was a post by a member who, if I recall correctly, quoted an e-mail response from Harvard on this topic. What I am remembering is that Harvard’s response was something to the effect that their previous position was to not accept both Math I and MAth II but currently do accept both as two exams. But, if it were me and I were counting on this point, I would contact Harvard directly and get their answer directly from them.

PS Other obscure point, somewhere in the Harvard forum there is a post by an admitted student who only had two SAT II’s on their ap. So if you application is strong and Harvard really wants you, they will find a way to admit you regardless. Just don’t count on it.

the admissions website says any 3 SAT Subject tests can be taken. the colleges that only want 1 Math SAT II usually say so on their websites? (from what iv read)

I just dont want it to hurt me using 2 math’s.
