I'm just curious whether consoles are popular at college. I'm sure PC gaming is popular, but assuming that most people have laptops, isn't it harder to play games with advanced 3d graphics on the PC. So are consoles popular in college, or is PC gaming(starcraft, CS) more popular?

My guess is PC games are gonna be more popular...I've actually heard some/a lot of dorms won't allow gaming consoles.

PC games are more popular, but I have a PS2, and my roommate and I love College Hoops 2k5.

I hope so....I plan on getting one of the new ones this year. In my neck of the woods, kids have them at their colleges, (at the state school, they are really popular) but most kids say they don't have as much time to play and the space is cramped. One student told me that they plan ahead to play and sometimes the kids that don't want to drink, etc. will have "gaming parties".

I live at home, and I'm all about the consoles. I've a GC and Xbox. When my friends are over... it's all about Super Smash Bros Melee, TimeSplitters: Future Perfect, Halo and Mario Kart: Double Dash :)

At my college library, I'm always seeing people there with their laptops playing some stragety or RPG games. I think PC gaming in college is more popular than console gaming as well.

At my school (top 20) console seems to be more popular. Especially with the younger guys. My room has an xbox, ps2, gc, and psp--but I dont play anything!

yeah, people play games during my cs 101 lectures.

Console games are quite popular because most people's computers are laptops which don't have the graphics to play current videogames ( :( to not being able to run NHL 2006)

I'm the man at NCAA College Hoops. No ones ever beaten me. Gaming on PC is more prevalent though I think.

Asking whether people in college play video games is sorta like asking if people in college have sex. ;-)

Anyway, when I was a freshman living in the dorms, I saw many guys bring X-boxes and PS2s. Many a weekend, there'd be LAN Halo tournaments in the lobby of our dorm.

people definitely play console games, though the computer variety might be more popular

One word: katamari.

Halo 2 :) (especially on Live)

halo and sports games (ie. madden) are the only games ppl play. occasionally, you'll see an old school nintendo

na na... na na na na na na na na na na na na...

Katamari, do your best!

ppl in college definitely play videogames of all kind

we have mario tennis tournaments, super smash bros tournaments, and mario kart races.

super smash brothers. the end.

Do they play videogames?

THey have these big LAN parties with like computer game companies sponsoring them......

Of course they do.

Xbox and computer games are popular at my school. It is easy to play Halo 2 with people in other rooms because my building is all on the same network. I also play Rise of Nations with a lot of other people. However, this is mainly during the day on weekends.
