Do school tend to count classes such as health or gym?

By state requirement we have to take classes like gym, health, freshmen rhetoric, a computer class, etc. All of which are only 1.25 or 2.5 out of 5 total credits. Freshmen year I got a B in rhetoric and somehow managed to get a B in health, how the heck I did that, only God will ever know :)
Anyhow: rhetoric and health brought down my freshmen year GPA a surprising amount, I only got one B that entire year in French, everything else was an A to an A+
So, do you think when looking at transcripts competitive colleges will really care so much about things like that? Can I submit my GPA without those classes, I mean, for a class that was a quarter or half a year are they really necessary to include?

Thanks for the help!

Most, if not all, schools will recompute your GPA based on their own guidelines. That’s especially the case for competitive schools. Many disregard freshman year and most disregard non-academic subjects like gym and health.

Your transcript will be evaluated by the schools in whatever way they see fit. I don’t think the GPA you “submit” matters much.
