I recall reading a few posts about schools staying AWAY from transfers who demonstrate financial need. Is this true or just paranoia?

I get that feelin with Brown, but i might be wrong.

They are called need-aware school. It is true.

Yeah I got accepted to Cornell but they gave me zero aid :(

I heard Brown didn't offer any financial aid to transfers..

They do starting this year, but they allocate only a limited amount of money. I believe the figure is something like $400,000 for some 190 transfers.

so if we do the math correctly, each applicant gets approximately $2000 =) how generous

Sounds like Brown is the only one getting the rap here.. Any others?

I always thought it was funny and ironic because Brown is considered one of the most liberal schools in the country.

Columbia has very limited funding for transfers as well.

I guess they'd have to plan for funding of transfer apps.
