Do students at NYU know if you an heop student?

<p>Like will people at NYU know that you are an heop student without you telling them? or is it strictly confidential?</p>

<p>How on earth would others know unless you told them yourself? NYU's not in the habit of broadcasting where specific students get their funds from.</p>

<p>If you're worried about people looking down on you, don't be. Sure, there are lots of rich kids here, but there are kids on scholarship here, too.</p>

<p>"Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP)
Sponsored by the New York State Department of Education, the Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP) at NYU is designed to assist students who are residents of New York State who are academically and educationally disadvantaged. In addition to financial assistance, students in the program receive supportive services including counseling and tutoring to help ensure their success. Students must meet academic and family income guidelines to be eligible, and must attend an eight-week summer program prior to the start of their freshman year. No special application is required for HEOP consideration, and New York State residents are automatically reviewed for eligibility during our normal application review process."</p>

<p>Even if your schedule was emblazoned with HEOP in giant scarlet letters (which I highly doubt it will be), your schedule's only available online or through your academic advisor. Both are highly private - other than whoever knows through the HEOP program, no one else will ever know unless YOU tell them. So just relax - no one looks down on people who got aid to come here. As long as you do well, no one would say a thing. :D</p>
