do these sat ii scores matter

i know that the difference between a 750 and 800 is not much when college admissions officers look at it, but will four 800s (math ii, physics, chem, bio) stand out at least a bit. as in "he might really be strong in science"

will it at least give me a slight advantage over people with perhaps a 790, 780, 750, 780 or something like that?

do the four 800s look good basically? and we're talking about mit and stanford here.

Higher SAT II scores are definitely not going to hurt you, but they’re not going to be the cause of you being admitted over someone with a 790, 780, 750, and 780.

For SAT IIs, there is a huge difference between 750 and 800 when you are talking about schools like MIT and Stanford. Take Math 2 for instance. I can’t 100% accurately recall the facts, but I do believe around 11% or so get an 800 on it. So that means that a 790 is already in the 89th percentile, and it only gets worse the further down you go. So 800s definitely give you an advantage over others. But, they aren’t as heavily weighted in the admissions process as GPA, ECs, essays, recommendations, and etc.

They might help in a tiebreaker, but it wouldn’t be a huge difference over a 790, 780, 750, and 780.

so it still carries some significance that they were all 800, and not all 790/780s?

^ Yes, it does. It would be a bit silly to assert otherwise.

honestly, i don’t think i’ll make a difference. they’ll look for a way that you’re better than somebody else in another aspect of your application. liiike your teacher recs or your transcript or ec or whatever.

i think once you have your high sat scores you have them. in the end, a 750 and 800 won’t make much of a difference. fyi i’m not a bitter person who got bad sat 2 scores… i have 2 800s but still i don’t think we’ll have that much of an adv over somebody who has a 750.
