According to the university, EA applications are evaluated on the basis of freshman through junior year criteria; senior year SATs are considered when an EA applicant is deferred to Regular Decision. But since they're getting October scores at about the sme time as EA apps, can that be literally true? What do they do - decline to open the envelope from CollegeBoard until December?

Hey gadad,
Good question, dunno answer. But I'll add another question:
Does Georgetown superscore the SATs, looking at October scores?

I had the same question, so called the admissions office about a month ago. The man who answered the phone said they consider October SAT's for early action. I'm not sure about November, though.

that sucks. . .
I had really good SAT scores last December (2250) but they dropped to a 2010 this time!!! (totally inconsistent with my pattern of rising scores since freshman year!) I know they are supposed to only consider the highest. . but they can't keep from SEEING them. hmmm...

I wouldn't worry about it that much, awonderfulwhim. If you have a consistent pattern of high scores they may give you the benefit of the doubt for the 2010, like if you were sick or something.

I talked to my Gtown rep/admissions person and she said that if you send scores with your Oct SAT (don't rush because for some reason it takes longer), college board sends them electronically, and it usually always gets there in time for your application review EA. If it gets there in time, they review your app with the new scores

i talked to the admissions rep for california about this (Jaime, ok so is it sad we are on a first name basis?) You can self report your scores and they will consider them EA as long as your high school emails them to GT. I am planning on sending in my october ACT scores (which i took yesterday) and he is fine with it.

Wait--schools have to send SAT scores into the school? I just had collegeboard send my scores to the schools.

Purplexed - Yes the Admissions rep who did the info session that we attended said they look at the highest score from various sittings, but they only consider Critical Reading and Math.

no only if you are trying to self reoprt a score. Basicly, if you just took the sat/act and want to make sure they consider that score you can have your highschool send email that score to them. becuase collegeboard can be really slow and the have to deal with so much paper work. it is a gurateented way that gt will see your new scores

If it says processed on collegeboard; then doesn't that mean that Georgetown has already received my Oct. SAT scores and thus will consider them for my EA?
