Do they look at weighted?

Do schools like MSHYP, etc, really look at your weighted gpa. Cuz though My unweighted will prolly be around 3.87 to 3.95, my weighted will be around 4.5 to 4.75.

they calculate their own gpa from your grades.

You're GPA is high anyway, but obviously a 4.0 taking no-brainer classes doesn't hold a candle to a 3.8 with 600 AP classes. Of course they take harder classes into consideration.

Even if your school has high grade inflation?
Students at Sagar and my school that take advanced courses get more quality points added to the weighted GPA.
So the max is a 6.0 and according to other people on here that is high inflation since most schools have a max of 5.0 for weighted.

It doesn't matter as nemo is right - colleges calculate GPA on their own based on classes.

Schools Look At Your Weight? Does This Give Chubby People Like Me An Advantage Or A Disadvantage?!!?

I'm confused about this as well, for example, at my school it is nearly impossible to get A's in certain classes, while in regular classes it's very easy, so if somebody works extremely hard in an honors class and gets a B (4.0) and somebody coasts through and easy class for an A (4.0) is that considered the same? Or are you even at a disadvantage because an unweighted B is worth a 3.0?

for IB SL courses, would they still count as IB courses and be weighted?

Also, certain teachers are much easier than others in the same AP or honors course. For example, my English teacher this year was Pennsylvania's teacher-of-the-year (2002 or so), and undoubted it was impossible for anyone to get an A in the class. However, there's another honors English (of the same course) who can't help but give everyone an A. I know SATs can "fix" this, but nonetheless, isn't this just unfair?

At my school, IB SL courses are still weighted. Pretty sweeeet. But come on, SL courses are still pretty challenging. Its just that you have 1 or 2 more essays and books to write and read in HL. And the Spanish exam is twice as long. :(

You know whats awesome? Math studies is still weight. MUahhahaa!
