Sorry if this is the wrong forum (couldnt figure out if this should go here or the SAT forum) but i'm a transfer student applying to universities (currently at a CC) and while most of the colleges i've applied to havent asked about the SAT on the 'Transfer App' the one I most recently tried to apply to claims they need it.

I never took the SAT in HS and really am not even sure how I go about signing up for since I am not in HS anymore

Some colleges require SATs from transfers, others do not so it depends on the college. Even if you’re not in HS anymore, you can still sign up for the SAT on the collegeboard website. Just follow the instructions on the website and you should be fine.

usually only the bigger name schools require transfers to take the SAT, like Ivies. I didn’t send my scores to Drexel, Rutgers, or Temple when i applied to transfer and they never asked. My sister, on the other hand, applied to UPenn and they told her specifially to take the March SAT and send the scores, even though she has 24 credits. Although it could still be good to take it even if they dont require it for possible scholarships.

The only private university I applied to required my SAT scores. I didn’t have to send my SAT scores as a transfer student to any state schools. I know there is a point where you become an upper-divison transfer as opposed to a lower-divison transfer. Here, I think, is when you have < 28 credits you still need to send in your SAT scores and HS transcripts. > 28 credits, you just send your comm. college transcripts.

I took the SAT November 2011. It was really easy. Just sign up on collegeboard’s website and usually your community college or a school in the area administers the test. For me, it was my school that did it so I had no problem finding the testing site. It was weird being in the same room I had taken my SAT test a year later used for my french class. Not that it’s any relevant.
