If I put an 'A' for a class I got a 'C' in, will the UC's confirm to find out? Do they check all grades to make sure they're accurate?

They won’t check right now. They took your word for it that the information you provided was correct. Once you submit your official transcript and grades don’t match your admission will be rescinded. Take the chance and tell us what happens.

Just think of how many people have tried to do that, or have done that. It’s not if they find out,it’s when. You can ultimately do what ever you would like though.

What he said^

The schools you are accepted to will verify your grades against an official transcript.

Are you really asking this?

Yes they do check and your acceptance will be revoked.

Lol. What have you done OP?

That’s a damn good question, Snorlaz. I hope he wasn’t stupid enough to actually lie about their grades.

Is this a serious question lol? If the U.Cs didn’t check official grades, why would anyone put below anything other than an A and get a 4.0?

ehhh, I’ll give the OP the benefit of the doubt and just assume that he was asking this question out of curiosity…

It seems like common sense…? Otherwise what would be the point of sending in official transcripts?

I think a better question would be what ramifications you would suffer for blatantly lying about your grades, besides having your admission rescinded. Maybe a lifetime ban from applying to any UC campuses?

Yes, they will find out. You’re also in big trouble (ie, possibly rescinded) if your transcripts don’t arrive on time. Never lie on your application, they are going to check.

For anyone looking at this that did misreport a grade, I’d suggest calling now, and pleading for them to fix your typo. The sooner you fix that sort of thing, the better.

Okay, would they keep me on a blacklist for changing my grades? Or will they forget about it if I apply again next fall?

To be honest, why waste a year and possibly be banned from applying to UC’s instead of just being honest? We don’t know the answer because we’ve never done something so dangerous. And it doesn’t seem like you mistyped your grade in so I’m assuming you’re trying to trick the UC’s

EDIT: Also even if they let you apply again the next year, you’ll still have to eventually put the C down so it’s kind of pointless

What?! Are you joking? You didn’t really change your grades did you?

Brian: the uc’s have your social; don’t you think they would check? Seriously if you have to ask this kind of question, you don’t belong on a UC campus.

Why don’t you tell us the whole story and maybe we can help you?

Edit: Or not, someone could figure you out.

Taken directly from the UC Statement of Application Integrity:

"We remind applicants that all information must be complete, accurate, and their own work. Failure to submit accurate information will jeopardize consideration for admission to UC for the current or any future terms. Students found to have falsified application information will be subject to penalties. "

Thus, this answers your question. The UC’s will not forget about it even if you apply next time.

I am still under the impression that OP is joking. I find it hard to believe that someone actually believes they don’t check. If it is not a joke, then I agree with refreshe18, the entire story needs to be told.

Why would you want to slightly raise your GPA and get revoked for lying?

So please explain.

Haha. OP are you joking or not? I think we’re all dying to know if you actually did this.
