Do UC's need recommendation letters for application?

topic
Thanks for taking your time to respond!

no.....................

Nope, they don't. They just mainly need your 3 personal essays and grades.

you need three personal essays?

they have 3 essay topics...you make two of them 200 words while the 3rd one, you make 600 words. you can choose which question to answer more extensively

Are the essay topics the same for each UC? Or will I have to write new ones for each UC that I apply to?

All are the same. Remember, you're sending the EXACT same application to all of your UC choices.

its not required but u can send in recommendations....my teacher did that for my classmate....it kinna shows that the student is truely genuine into gettin into that college
im not sure if the UC would prefer you to do so though =/

They don't want anything sent to them unless they request it.

UC Berkeley requested me to send them a Recommendation form and I think 14 short answer questions. I'm not sure if the other UC's do that.

The UC system does not require nor want recommendation letters. The recommendation form requested from the poster above by UC Berkeley is kind of a breaker for applicants on the border of getting in and being rejected. My friend got one of those last winter during admission season, unfortunately he didn't get in to UCB.

nope. they don't have time to read it when they have over 50,000+ essay responses to look at from other applicants.
