Do Universities Verify your ECs

Do universities verify their applicants ECs? Would it be a problem if I estimate hours of community services or internships?

Some do. UC’s ask a percentage of applicants to validate one or more EC’s.

It’s fine to estimate hours as long as the estimate is within reason.

What about those that we apply to through Common App?Do they require certificates?Plus, I don’t live in America so it would be hard for them to verify my ECs.

No you don’t send anything in unless they ask you.

@skieurope it is not necessarily an EC. It can be your transcript from a HS, transcript from a college, award, EC, or even address haha. It is just one thing on your App. If u cannot verify it, they will choose another thing

Colleges take your word for your ECs unless you say something crazy and impressive. They might (like the UC’s) ask you to prove an EC.
