Do US Universities offer credit for AP Tests taken during a gap year?

I decided to take a gap year, and so are the APs. I have to take it for 2 reasons

  1. Some Universities in UK require it for a full admission.

  2. The APs will help me in finding the major that best fits me ( I cannot decide what to study and this is another reason I’ve chosen the gap year).

So I’m not doing it only for the sake of testing, but for exploring more fields of study. I want to know if the experience worth it…?
