Exactly. I'm quite proud of my paper on the subject.

I'll happily PM my paper to you, Johnny K.

Whats lacking in our education system includes, and is not limited to
1)Discipline in the classroom
2)Proper educational methods
3)Reason
4)High standards
5)Competent teachers
6)Accountability
7)Free market

Okay. That'd be great.

hey, I'd like a copy as well.

Thank you for not saying money... standards are WAY too low for us.

It's quite long - will it go through the PM on this site?

Those who have a will to suceed will. No student in this country faces a shortage of oppurtunity. It is very possible in this country for the son a steel mill worker to become a CEO. All that one needs is effort.

Money isn't a factor, despite what teacher union propaganda preaches. Can you mail me a copy of your essay? I pm you my email.

sure thing - that would work best. anyone else who wants a copy should PM me their email. John K, Martha, etc.

I doubt America will get smarter until China and India catch up. The likely case will be that our generations kids will live in a super competetive society, where standards are crazy high, so that the US can naturally compete with China and India.

Also, while I realize that a flame war could have started, I don't think members of this board appreciate a 7th grader jumping up and calling everyone pathetic. If you ask for a nasty response, people will likely give it to you.

theres a link to it on my profile.

"It is impossible to expect children with severe disabilities to perform
at the level of their peers, especially in a testing program with very
few special services for support. Other actions need to be taken to
ensure that learning-disabled children are neither left behind nor
subjected to harsh test-and-punish policies."

I love that.

John K, your profile says you can't receive e-mails. I can't get my paper to you any other way right now.

thanks Martha - I was particularly adamant in that section.

It really hits home. (sorry for the sports cliche)

John K - want the paper or not? Or have you left this most interesting debate?

Sorry. I had to eat.

I'll PM you my email address.

On second thought, why can't you send it through PM?

It's a bit of an awkward copy-paste job. In e-mail it attaches nicely. But whatever your preference.
