so what type of things do we get when we go to our orientation?

a little drawstring backpack, a pen, a planner, a UCLA wallet, maybe something else I don't remember, but nothing big

I can't wait

I think they give you like $3 on your bruincard. Oh, Yay!

Sidenote- I laugh inside when I see the orientation kids walking around with the backpacks. I know it's not really funny. But its just...eee! new kids! and they're all so fresh faced and excited and Oh, just wait youngins! One day you won't feel compelled to take three thousand and five pictures of Royce every. single. time. you pass. And then you'll realize that UCLA is actually, like, school. And maybe not always so fun. But yay enjoy your backpacks and remember how stoked you were during the summer before you had 3 midterms on one day and papers and are all like oh my god IhateUCLAI'mGoingToFailOHNOES.

haha, I didn't take any pictures! I forgot my camera at home! :( But I'll take 3 thousand pictures when i return!

Um, everything that you get at Orientation isn't free. You paid for it.

funnyman: but what did u get?

everything CC said, and a UCLA calendar type poster, and 15 dollars on the bruincard.

$15?

. . .

It didn't pay to be in the Class of 2005.

Wait. $15 for TRANSFER orientation? I'm pretty sure the $15 is for freshman, since they're there for three days. Unless it went up 500% since last year. Hmm.

it's for freshmen.

ohhh, I understand the confusion now. I didn't see that the thread was titled "transfer" sorry.

Wow, I'm actually kinda jealous. :(

How much was freshman orientation? Around $300?

well, i don't think the $15 in the bruincard "benefit" is worth the $340 we had to pay for orientation.

Certainly not, but at some point, the massive amounts of money you pay the school becomes out of sight out of mind. Any extra cash you can get feels like a benefit, even if it's just the redistribution of a fraction of the amount you've already paid.

It feels good getting free stuff, though. :)

well, okay, don't let me spoil your moment of perceived benefit.
