Hey guys,

I know the toefl test is made for international students. But if I have been here for almost 6 years since 6th grade, and i'm taking 5 AP classes in my junior year right now with decent grades, is it still mandatory to take the toefl test??

And i heard you have to get a certain score on the CR in order to omit the toefl test?? omg i hope is not true!

You should check each college's website to be sure. However, I think most of them, if not all of them, waive it if you have lived more than 4 years in an English-speaking country.

Yes, some colleges waive it for a CR score above a limit. But that limit varies from college to college, so I send you again to their websites.

Hmm.. It really depends on the university you're applying to. But most colleges waive it for students who have stayed a certain period of time in English Speaking Countries... And of course, a CR score of around 650 or more, I think, I am not sure, will waive the TOEFL requirement

your toefl requirement is waived for all colleges if you get more then 700 in cr and in most colllges for above 670, public universities waive it for around 600 cr.
and if you don't get that much then its usually good to submit toefl as its a very easy test and people generally do well in it.

thanks guys, i guess i'll focus even more on the CR section..only 1 week left till march sat...

oh and this is what i found from Michigan.
Students who have recently and successfully completed at least four years of rigorous academic studies in one of the countries listed might also be exempted if SAT critical reading scores are in the mid-600 range. An admissions counselor will make that decision based on the level of academic achievement.

As I said earlier, it varies with each college. But I suggest that you take the TOEFL anyway, and as Shreya said its pretty easy to score on it when compared to the SAT
