Do we have to update our schools on FAFSA?

When I applied for FAFSA earlier this year I listed about 5 schools including my current CC in case I didn't get into my top choice. Well, I ended up getting into my top choice (UCB) so do I need to update my FAFSA and remove those other schools that I listed? What if I plan to take one CC course during the fall while I'm enrolled at UCB - Do I still remove the school? I don't want to get financial aid checks from my CC and end up having to send it all back because they made a mistake.

FASFA’s list of schools is really just a list of places which can access your information. If you don’t remove them and don’t attend, they wont care since you are not asking them for money and you’re no longer attending classes so they can’t give you anything.

As for taking other classes at CCC while at UCB, you’d have to sign that CCC up to the list in order to get aid. Some forms of aid will be centralized to the school level so you can double dip in these cases, mostly scholarships and the BOG waiver, other things like the Pell Grant are federal so it wont change anything.
