Do we need headings?

When we upload documents to CommonApp, should there be a heading preceding the essay?

I think there should be headings. At least, you should write a heading for your main essay.

what do you mean heading? something that has a title and your name/date, or something else?

I was thinking like…

Name
What Type of Essay (ex. Common App - Cornell CAS Supplement)

and then the title and essay…

Uhm, you could upload the document and then view it through the ‘View Document’ button. I haven’t uploaded any of my things, but I heard that your name automatically goes in the heading and whatnot, so I would just include the prompt (If they give you choices for a prompt) and then the essay following it.

is a title needed?

thegreentea, I think titles are encouraged, especially if you can think of a good one that will grab the reader’s attention. :)

Also, slightly unrelated but do we have to write out numbers or can we simply put i.e. 7 instead of seven to save word count? Thank you!

if below 10 write in numbers
