Well yes I would understand you’re perfect. I’ve read that in a few of your posts. Thank you for so graciously correcting me…

…of course everything has some component of memorization to it. Some degrees more than others. Its those degrees based around a higher level of memorization where I see these “study aids” more useful

Adderall and similar drugs are available via a prescription for people who need them. Taking them because you can’t study on your own falls somewhere between “selfishly stupid” and “academically dishonest”. And illegal. There’s also that.

i agree; but I was against equating the word drug with stupid, as if any drug is inherantly evil unless the laws of the USA say it’s okay. I’m not saying taking ritalin as a study aid is not stupid… maybe it is.

It isn’t really stupid to get high on meth to do some calculus homework. It’s a bit short sided though. At some point you’re going to get difficult, boring work in the real world and you can’t rely on always being high to get it done.

Nope. Personally don’t take anything and I do fine. I’m good on my own. HOWEVER, if say the movie Limitless was true and they made a drug like that I would try it a few times. The perfect version of myself. That would be sweet.

Honestly though I don’t know if any of my friends take it and I don’t really care. Thats there business…until the police show up my house asking about it. Then me and my “friend” will have a problem.

No way. I make sure I never get to the point where I need to do marathon sessions. Chances are, I am getting better grades than the people who put off studying and cram it all in anyway.

Adderall is a tuned amphetamine and Desoxyn is a methamphetamine so it would be a good idea to use some before doing calculus homework. You sure will have loads more focus at least. But as I said above, short sided choice.

I’m vaguely interested in trying it out. At least to experience “infinite attention span” once.

^I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little interested. But I can study for 12 hours on my own (And do even more than that). I’d be interested in seeing how i’d be any different.

Drug and alchohol addiction run in my family, and caused some deaths and one suicide in my family… so i am vehmently against certain drugs… but wouldn’t judge someone as stupid or lazy if they made an educated, responsible choise… like with marijuana. Suppose someone suffers from “pain” and the doctors are ■■■■■■■ (as they usually are) why would illegally smoking it be bad? I have this thing in my leg, where sometimes it gets extremely painful to walk… maybe an army injury… the doctors are clueless about it. Or, like I have 3% bodyfat and a 110 pulse and I weigh 110 (this is all true). the doctor though I have hyperthyroidism… but my thyroid tested normal. so would it be morally wrong for me to respnsibly try a steroid?

I was falsely prescribed an ADD stimulant for my depression. It helped me study like a boss, but then I crashed during a school play and started crying hysterically backstage.
So am I jealous? Nope, let them take 'em once or twice. But if you start to rely on them then you’ll pay the price.

Agree. People drink coffee or energy drinks all the time for the sole purposes of staying alert so that they can study and do homework or whatever. I don’t. Should I complain that I’m at a severe disadvantage compared to others that do?
