Do you get jealous?

No because they don't score higher....I sabotage them beforehand.

No, it doesn't really bother me.
I just make sure I study up and do better the next time.

i once got so jealous i peed my pants.
everybody laughed at me, and i wet myself even further.

I haven't really had an opportunity to encounter jealousy, at least in my school. Hopefully this will change when I get to college. (I don't think my school has had anyone besides me who has scored over 1900 on the SAT). We do have one kid younger than me who I'm really good friends with that got a 200 on his PSAT, but I don't think anyone else in his grade is close to him. (I got a 232)

Edit: My school has a lot of average students, but basically no elite ones, it's kind of wierd. (~880 kids)

Saedeas, why would you want to encounter jealousy? Be happy you got good scores and are smarter than everyone in your high school.

by jealousy he means competition.

Yeah, what Ostonzi said. Not truly jealousy, but the opportunity to get jealous, which would imply competition.

no (10 char)

Yes, i try not to though. But sometimes with my more competitive friends i feel like i want to beat them; otherwise they do that "ooh i got better than you" thing that everyone does around me.

Actually the closest I've come to being jealous is when I encounter those people who don't read a book, write a literary analysis the day before, whine and moan about how they're freaking out about getting a bad grade, then gets the highest grade in the class. I don't know how to feel about that. Besides... annoyance.

^ Same here. That's the only time I get jealous about academic stuff.

Otherwise, I get competitive but not so competitive that it's obvious. It's more like...she scored much better so I know I can score much better too and it motivates me to study harder. I'm happy when my friends succeed, I just use it as motivation for me to do well also because I know it's possible.

Haha, I thought this thread was about like ex-boyfriends/girlfriends getting a new GF/BF.
Because if that was the case..a little bit. It's hard not to..

And oh, there's a lot of joking, just for fun competition. Like if someone constantly does better than me and one day I beat them, then it's like HAHA I beat you!
Or if there's another person who always scores the same ...and then we always see if we beat each other just as a fun competition thing.

No jealousy though..just all in good fun!

I don't get jealous - my reaction is usually, "why don't I know this?!" Everyone in my chem/bio classes is better than me, and I guess it's my fault for choosing classes that I'm not great at. I'm getting the lowest 'A's possible, but hey, they're 'A's :D

Oh, but there were a lot of upsets when we got our Art grades last year. There were six of us in class and we had to present two practical units of work, one titled "Expressive Enquiry" and one of our own choice (I picked "Portraits and Figure"). Everyone except two people worked their butts off all year. Out of those two people, this girl stayed up like three nights straight right before the deadline and still got an 'A'. The other people (three got 'B's, one got a 'C', and PHEW I got an 'A') were a bit miffed with this. Thankfully, she got a lower percentage than I did. If she had gotten a higher 'A' than I had, I might have broken something.

Yes...except in English.

Forget that junk.

Yes...except in English.

Forget that junk.

nope because i never study and i still get better than a lot of them

when they beat me i decide to study and usually hold my own

i think my lack of study ethics is gonna fk me over in college

i didnt study for the PSAT or ACT

damnit now im mad at myself good freaking job TS
