i stopped going to my chem lecture and i still think i didn't miss out on anything. when i go, it wastes my time cuz i dont understand what he's talking about, so i just read the book at home do the problems, and go to the slc. is this bad? lol

i think i might do this for physics too..i run out of time in the day if i always go to classes and i just want to know if i will do just as well reading the book and do practice problems..or is there some downside to it that i dont know about?

If you find it irrelevant with the homework, quizzes, etc. or you don’t understand, I guess it’ll be a better use of your time going at a slower pace yourself but so that you actually understand.

But you’re not going to get announcements or tips from the book…

So how did not going to lecture for Chem work out for you on the first midterm?

are we talking about chem 1a? keke

Chem 3B with Vollhardt

I think it’s a little dangerous not to go at all if you don’t have any buddies in the class that can let you know of any announcements. Just to cover your bases, make sure you have someone that can tell you what’s up.

I’ve had lectures in the past that were a complete waste of time, and I’d generally skip once a week if they were useless.
