Tony, you didnt care enough about scooping ice cream? Shame on you, didn't you know that's the most important job ever! lol. your boss sounds stupid.

I work at a pool in the summer, as a "Pool Attendent" where we are basically overworked like dogs for $5.75/hr. I tried to get a job elsewhere, but the Michigan economy sucks ass, and I couldn't find anything else.

I also work at Marshall Field's (soon to be Macy's) Gift Wrap, where I get $7.50. Not bad, but I have to deal with a bunch of snobby rich people treating me like ****.

At least you guys get to work.

I'm not allowed to work until the end of senior year. Maybe I'll take up teaching music or something. $25/hour isn't bad.

$25/hr is fricken amazing.

Wow, where I'm at minimum wage is $8.00/hour...although, your employer has the option of paying you a $6.50/hour training wage for your first 500 hours of employment. After you've done 500 hours of any employment, employers are forced to pay you min. wage. It's a strange system.

my parents think it's stupid when other parents say their kids shouldn't work cuz they're in school..that's what happens when your parents grew up in a third world country :) but anyways..i make $13.30/hour as an instructional assistant...the county pays well :)

I work for my parents and it SUCKS. When working for family, they don't have to pay you minimum wage. And I'm not just sitting around in an air-conditioned office all day. I cart boxes around, stock shelves in supermarkets, deal with rude customers even though I don't work for the store, fill vending machines, and a number of other things. My parents own two businesses, one is a delivery business and the other is a vending business (as in vending machines, like snacks, soda, stuff like that). My mom does insurance on the side, but I can't do that. No matter how long I work I get $35 a day. I think the most I've ever worked was 11 hours in a day. The hours change all the time and there is no air-conditioning in the delivery truck. Every day I come home and I'm covered in dirt. But I guess it's better than nothing. I'm thinking about getting a job when the fall rolls around, though. It's just convenient to work for my parents.

Cmon....It's BH. Do you expect any more out of them? :P

Earlier this summer I worked as an assistant riding instructor at summer camp at my barn for 40 hours per week and $6.15 per hour (MD minimum wage). During the school year I babysit for $10 per hour and tutor in chemistry for $15 per hour, but I might try to find a job with more regular hours for the upcoming year.

i can't work yet. I'm almost 15 though. Should be able to get a job once i turn 16

I'm seventeen, I work, 60 hrs a week during the summer, 30hrs during the school year. It sucks I hate it, i'm basically working to pay my expenses, especially gas, food, clothes, and cell phone all thats leftover everyweek is like 50 bucks.. I wish gas wouldn't be so damn expensive or that public transit actually stopped by my job.

I'm 15 and a half....I work as a library page with starting pay of $8.49...now, we get $8.75...it's pretty good pay, and we don't really do a lot of stuff (shelf books, that's it...). the people who work there are pretty much college and high school age, so I always have somebody to kick it with during my break. it's a good job.

on the side, i work for my mom's friend (filing papers, etc...paperwork) for $10 an hour.

life is good :)

Fsu-uf i would die having to work that much. Wow. Most adults dont even work that much.
