do you have cheaters in your honors/ APs?

There is little if no actual real-time (that is, during test) cheating, but afterwards it is rampant, since all classes are taught at least twice during the day and have tests on the same day, so many people from the first class will memorize answers and then tell those answers to the people in the second. Both classes usually end up with high grade averages.

That's why some teachers make up two different tests and essay prompts for two classes (that's how it is for AP US History), so no two tests share the same problems.

Cheating is a BIG thing here, along with skipping. In my honors eng and us history, people always copy homework, and since the teachers have like, 200 students each, they can't really tell/remember. But during tests, the only class where people cheat is my health and spanish, which are both non-honors and mostly comp kids.

i know what you mean princess. i've witnessed more cheating in my general education classes (spanish, health, and gym-we lamely have gym tests) than my ap classes.

MY WHOLE SCHOOL IS FULL OF CHEATERS!!!. I am sorry but I had to get that out. I cant stand those dumb cheaters. Seriously 100% of them cheat. About 90% of students in my class that have a higher GPA than me, are not even smarter than me. They don't work hard either. They just copy from each other and I am really ****ed. Now I struggle to get into Umich which I am probably going to not apply to anymore.

Sparknotes arnt even considered cheating these days lol
My teacher TOLD us to use those stuffs lol

Everyone in my school uses cheat sheets or copy off of 1-2 smart kids in the class.

Everyone in my AP Calc class cheats off eachother on hw and take home tests and stuff. AP calc is hard though; there are seriously about 2/32 people who get everything.

Don't you guys feel bad when you get a lower score than someone who cheated off of someone on the same assignment? I hate that. Wouldn't it be nice if all of us CCer's are in 1 school. That would be so cool!

nope that would make ranking and grading really tough. the SAT average would be like 2100. Plus 5+ RSI from one school? that's just crazy. Regular would be like AP in other schools.

That is so true. But atleast I can get a better education.

Cheating goes on everywhere in high school. Its especially bad in regular classes though. My only regular class this year has had like 10 honor codes.

Why are teachers more lenient in giving out grades to their honors/ap classes. I received a 100 in English Honors first semester of Freshman year as did 10 other people in my class. Now I received an 85 in regular English with the same teacher first semester of Junior year. I don't get this. Isn't honors suppose to be harder and the grading is suppose to be harder? I mean I actually did more/better work during Junior year for the 85.

Naturally.

Hence the "Form A, B, C, D, E"'s.

lil_killer the same problem happens at my school. A lot of the time, regular teachers are just dumb and are often unclear on what they want for assignments.

Last year, 90% of the people taking physics would use cheatsheets because the guy was too old to care. They would still do bad on the tests, even though they were simple. In AP classes, no one cheats. In honors classes, sometimes there is a lot. My chem teacher gives out the same questions on his tests every year, but in a different order. He would like switch up the multiple choice to different orders. The people would just put the wrong answer. THe best part is on like open response questions they would do all the right work, and then put the answer from previous years tests. He knows people cheats, but figures whatever, the other chem teachers are jokes. One lady was playing with a socket, putting paper clips in it. The funniest thing he ever did was have 15 multiple choice on a test, and they were all true. Lots of people made some false after seeing they were all true. At my school, the cheaters are not in the top of the class.

Haha. That was some clever move there.

it depends what cheating is considered as

i mean, on say homework assignments that arent even graded where the teacher looks to make sure there done or detention, i dont see at all what the problem is copying.... but cheating on essays/tests/quizzes is wrong

I don't know that many people that cheat, although one girl who is in an honors class with me went to ask the teacher a question before the test and while he was talking to someone in front of, she copied the answers that were sitting right on his desk!

ugh YES. in my chemistry honors class a LOT of people cheat.
like my teacher gave out an open note quiz, and kids who had older siblings in chemhonors simply brought their older siblings' quiz. and my absent minded teacher didnt know and voila! they get an A. grrr. and the girl next to me always looks at my test during an exam and the teacher has to tell her to keep her eyes on her paper, oh about 10 times.
