I don't have a problem about people cheating. I just have a problem when they outrank me in the end... If there were no cheaters in my school, I'd be in the top 5% out of a class of 380. But instead im in the top 12% because of cheaters!!

That's a pretty big statement. I don't think there is anyway you can prove that. It sounds to me like you need to just buckle down and work harder or stop complaining.

ugh now that i think about it, people cheat in alg2trig too.. people from the previous years class hand down their tests and quizzes to the people in the next years class and since our teacher is an 80 year old dinosaur, he uses the same tests and quizzes for every year. he doesnt even care to make different versions -__-

cheating is rampant at my highschool, and I'm guilty of quite a bit of it, and I'm taking the most difficult schedule my school offers. We've stolen tests, copied homework, copied tests, told answers during tests, I've taken a couple of tests for friends, and probably some other things. More of my cheating is to help others though, but either way it doesn't particularly matter. Class rank in the scheme of things means little to nothing, so don't worry about it. Some people will cheat, and if they get caught they'll be *ed, if they don't get caught they may just not know the material as well which may * them later, but either way it's really none of your or anyone elses business. Chill out and mind your own business if you want to cheat, and remember, no one likes a rat.

don't call people rats if you are the one cheating

rats meaning if you were to rat on me or anyone else for cheating. That would make you a rat.

During my first semester of Sophomore year my rank was 17 out of 380. At the end of the second semester of Sophomore year my rank dropped to a 37 out of 380. By first semester of Junior year which is now, my rank is currently 45 out of 380.

I didn't drop in rank because my GPA has gotten lower. My GPA remained the same at 4.0. By Sophomore year I noticed people cheating off of me during tests. Actually I didn't notice it; People tell me they see them. Now by NYS standardized regents examinations, these cheaters DO NOT even pass, while I score in the 90s. This is really sad, because they get higher grades in class, while they fail the easiest standardized test on this planet.

I don't see when cheating is ever necessary (even if your schedule is packed). It's the person's fault for not studying the material, and I don't believe someone deserves "additional help" if they haven't done what's necessary to sufficiently acquire this "knowledge." For instance, most of the people in my Chem H class used cheatsheets during a simple, one-minute quiz. Most of these people are my friends and attempted to dissuade them, but to no avail, they were insistent on cheating. I finished first within less than a minute, while others who were using cheatsheets were not finished until almost two to three (even five!) minutes later. In the end, as the old adage reads, "cheaters never prosper." ;)

so then you all will clearly succeed more in life later, class rank means little to nothing so chill out and prove yourself in the real world if you're so sure.

how do you define cheating?
like copying work or looking at answers during a test or
is it using online resources like Sparknotes and stuff like that?
