You don't have to send the scores to colleges now, but if you decide later that you do want them sent it will cost money. Look in the Student Pack if you have yours for the costs, or check out CB.

Why not send your scores? A 3 may not get you credit at many colleges, but it indicates you can do college-level work. No need to hide it. You've already paid to send them as part of your testing fee, you might as well send them.

but two threes doesnt look good when applying to Dartmouth, UPenn etc.

I don't think you are supposed to be sending AP scores to colleges you are applying to. They are supposed to go to the college you know you are going to...I believe.

My counselor at school told us to send our scores to colleges we might be going to, just in the chance we go there.

but i wont be getting credit for them anyway..

can you send one AP Score and not another?

First, you can technically pay the CB to "withhold" scores from your score report, but it's a waste of money - here's why. No college that I know of requires an official score report when you apply. That means that all they look at is your self-reported AP scores on your application*. So if you end up with a score or two you don't like, just leave it off of your application. (This has been recommended by admissions officers on CC). The only time you need to have an official score report sent is when you've decided where you're going to college. So by the time AP's come around senior year, you should know where you're going and you can use your 1 free score report to send your scores there.

Some schools include AP scores on your transcript - you might be able to get those removed

Thanks so much!
This makes life so much less worrisome
