Do you have your final list of schools?

Enn, what college within cornell are u applying for?

NYU's $31,534 according to the PrincetonReview.

I forgot what college it was. But I applied for either international relations or political science. I forget since I applied to 3559872589 other schools.

I'm international, that's why I have to submit more documents like a bank statement and a affidavit of support showing I can pay for all four freaking years. =s

Yeah, your in CAS, you still need the supplement... itll be up sometime in sept.

From the NYU website:

Costs and Financial Aid (Fall, 2006)
Tuition (full-time undergraduate): $33,740
Room and Board (average): $11,730
Average Financial Aid Package (incoming freshman): $20,095
Annual Amount NYU-funded Financial Aid: $117.5 million
Number of Merit Scholarships: 390
Range of Merit Scholarships: $1,000 - $25,000

would that be the most expensive school?

list so far:
northwestern
u of chicago
wustl

i was waitlisted at wustl in the spring, does that increase my chances of getting in? i wrote them letters back then, but they didn't take anyone off..ahh i realllly want to go there

Ouch. That's a lot of money for NYU.

What's the Cornell CAS supplement? Like what does it include?

And yeah NYU is one of the most expensive schools I've looked up.

I think MIT is extremely expensive too, but it gives really good financial aid. And while I was adding up the figures for Syracuse, I remember thinking they rivaled NYU's.

A lot of people apply there so you'd be lucky to get a good financial aid package to NYU.

Enn, the CAS supplement has an additional essay you have to write and other information.

Another essay?

Oh my.

Actually, that's good! That's my strong point (on good days). =D

I don't understand the NYU thing..ZERO college experience made even worse by transferring. I guess if you are really independant and don't need people or a college experience its okay, but WOW do I know alot of unhappy transfers. My advice is go to NYC after college, you'll have even more fun then.

Yes, people, follow slipper's advice and don't transfer to NYU.

Sorry, I'm being selfish. It's just you guys are so much more qualified than I am and it's a little scary.

I think NYU is 100% the perfect college for me. I am independent and a city girl at heart and the journalism program is amazing and and aaand.. I have to get in. lol.

In This Order

Berkeley
UCLA
UCSD
Cal Poly SLO

Eh, I'm considering transferring out of NYU because of the horrible financial aid.

My experience with NYU is 75% hate it and 25% could not imagine themselves anywhere else. the people who love it usually are international, into the club or music scene, and don't care much for "community."

No one loves it because they're into culture and art...?

USC

Tulane

NYU

UVA

Meh.

I think part of loving NYU is loving NYC. If you don't like the city you are not going to enjoy going to NYU. It is my experience that people either love or hate the city. I personally love it. I guess Slipper is talking about college community because there isn't really the college atmosphere but I find their is a great community feeling in NYC.
