If so, then, are they generally well-liked? Popular? I'm geussing we'd be kind of a novelty. A friend of a friend went to uni in the US and he said that because of his accent he had been invited to exclusive frat parties, had 3 proposition of one-night stands (no that I would really take advantage of this) and even got off a punishment for an alcohol misdemeanour.

Also, is that "accent" thing just a myth, or do the European students really tend to get more female attention? I'm kind of skeptical about this...

I like british accents, but people are not going to make that big of a deal out of it, and the novelty will wear off very quickly. So don’t count on your nationality to score you many points.

I don’t know any British guys at my college … oh wait, scratch that. I’ve met one guy, ONCE.

In terms of well-liked … well, an accent is one thing, but if you are a jerk, no matter how cool your accent sounds, no one wants to be around you. Free passes because of your accent? Meh. Not gonna happen.

Although you might get the attention of girls. Helps if you’re handsome because if you look like a ■■■■■, no accent could save you, darling.

For me personally, the British accent does add some appeal (although I suspect I will get tired of it after I finish my study abroad program). I think most European accents in general are appealing. For me, I get crazy when I hear a guy speaking French or attempting to speak English with his heavy French accent. And if he’s hot to boot … I go mad! =]
